VIDIT Tools Catalogue
A selected list of software tools for visualizing and investigating textual variation

About this catalogue

The Working Group 'Visualizing and Investigating Differences in Texts' (VIDIT) has created this catalogue to review the current range of software tools that enable scholars and researchers to analyze and present variance in literary, historical, and artistic texts. This catalogue is one of the key research outcomes of the VIDIT working group, which aims to develop a set of recommendations for developing robust and effective software tools for textual scholars and researchers interested in analyzing differences in texts.

The catalogue also includes software tools that are no longer available, such as Juxta, as well as tools that have been presented only within publications, without ever becoming available to the public. This allows us to study and track all the development and modelling efforts made by our fellow scholars in this field.
